ISO: Looking for Bierox
Misc.I am looking for more information about a German (?) or Russian (?) recipe for a meat and bread roll called "bierox." I am not sure of the spelling. It is common in Northwest Oklahoma, made by German families who were in Russia for decades before their immigration to the US, and Oklahoma, in the late 1800's. It is made with bread dough filled with hamburger, sometimes sausage, cabbage, and sometimes onion. They look like a big dinner roll, but with a great filling. Does anyone know more about this dish?
