ISO: more questions about candy cigarettes recipes

I was also wondering if there are any substitutions for the egg white?

I've been comparing this list of ingredients to that of Altoids. Altoids has Gelatin and Gum Arabic. Do you suppose the Gelatin is used here as an alternative to egg whites? Also, are gum products interchangeable? For example, will Gum Tragacanth or Gum Arabic do the same thing as Tylose?
