TEENTIME APPLE DUMPLINGS
"Good plot for two or more teen cooks at Halloween. The fellows wash and core the apples. The girls mix the raisin filling and prepare the biscuit blankets. Everybody fills, wraps and tags his own apple for baking."
1/3 cup raisins
1/3 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 1/3 cups Bisquick baking mix
3 tbsp granulated sugar
3 tbsp butter or margarine, melted
1/2 cup milk
6 medium baking apples, cored
Heat oven to 425 degrees F.
Mix raisins, brown sugar and 1/3 cup softened butter; set aside.
Stir (dry) baking mix, granulated sugar, 3 tablespoons melted butter and the milk to a soft dough. Gently smooth dough into a ball on fioured cloth-covered board. Knead 8 to 10 times.
Roll dough into a rectangle, 18x12-inches. Cut rectangle into six 6-inch squares. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Place an apple on each square; fill centers with raisin mixture. Bring opposite corners of dough up over apples and press together.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until crust is light brown.
