ISO: Roast Beef Marinade

I marinated an eye round roast beef in olive oil and red wine vinegar and a liitle garlic, overnight. It sure was tender, but I didn't care for the vinegar-y taste the meat had. Is there another way to marinate a roast so that it's nice and tender,without using something acidic like vinegar or lemon that's going to flavor the meat? Thanks!
