ISO: Slicks

Misc.

What area or region of the country does the term slicks or slickers originate?
From the description and recipe, these are the same thing I make and call
dumplings. I am from Louisiana. The name is interesting, since I make them
for my family and brothers and sisters, but I can honestly say they are
probably one of the few things I don't like or eat, the juice, yes. The name
slicks are appropriate, since that is why I dno't like them, the feel to the
mouth.
