Hi. This recipe has been in my family for many generations. You can make it in a crockpot or in a large stew pot. You must cook the meat all day - at least 8 hours so it will be very tender.

SOUPAS

1 rump roast
2 cans tomato sauce
2 cups red wine
3 or 4 whole small white onions
3 or 4 stalks of celery with leaves
3 or 4 cabbage leaves
1 small head garlic
2 tablespoons pickling spice tied in a cheesecloth
salt and pepper
fresh mint leaves
sourdough bread (to serve)

Combine everything and let cook slowly all day (at least 8 hours).

Strain the sauce and slice the meat.

To serve, put the sliced meat and sauce over sliced sourdough bread.
