ISO: Spicy Garlic Sauce

We eat at a very small place called Kento's Mandarin BBQ. They use the most wonderful sauce poured over rice (or noodles), steamed vegetables and grilled chicken (or shrimp). The sauce would be good on anything. Would anyone have a recipe for something like that?
