ISO: Tried and True Appetizer Cheesecake

I'm looking for an appetizer to tide my family over during lunch time on Christmas, as I am not going to make lunch and dinner too. We are serving dinner at 4 p.m. and I'm looking for substantial appetizers to make ahead of time for about 12 people. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you.
