ISO: What is Creme Fraische?

I don't know if I am spelling this correctly, but I have seen this called for in several European recipes. I am hoping that someone can tell me what it is and where I might find it in the United States or if this is something I can make at home. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
