ISO: What is the secret to keeping chocolate from melting??

Is there a way/process to keep chocolate from melting? I have a wonderful recipe for choclate cluster cookies. These cookies are not baked. Ingredients include chocolate and butterscotch morsels which are melted in a double boiler.

The cookies are fine when cooled -but once they re at room temperature they soften and become very messy to eat.
Is there something that can be added to the process to keep the chocolate from melting/softening?
