Thank You: Black Bean Soup

Misc.
Thanks Gladys - that first recipe sounds just like the Black Bean soup that I had for the first time years ago at a little Cuban restaurant on the Keys here in FL. That started my love of anything Spanish, Mexican or Cuban. It was also the first time I had ever had Key Lime Pie - and surprise, it was YELLOW-BROWN!! I have compared all black bean soup and keylime pies to them ever since! To a Michigan born girl, transplanted to New England in my 20's - my culinary tastes were pretty bland - so that little Cuban restaurant was a big experiment for me to take that day - I still can bring back that wonderful taste.

Unfortunately, my DH doesn't share this love, so I have to sneak it in occasionally when I need a fix!

Thank you for sharing it with me - our daughter and grandson are here with us this week for spring break - she's a teacher and grandson is vegetating and has taken over grandpa's chair and command central remote!! She is going to do chicken stir-fry tonight for us.

DH is feeling alot better these days, I have recuperated nicely from my surgery, so things are looking up in our household finally - it's been a long 4 weeks since his open heart surgery - but today he and grandson are at Home Depot on a little project!!

Gladys - I hope you are feeling better by now, also.

thanks again -

love, June
