Thank You: Hello, Gina! thanks for posting that delicious soup and bread!

Misc.
I just finished eating a cinnamon bun and some turkey sausage...after this weekend (actually, tomorrow, after our dinner with guests this evening), I am going to get rid of a few pounds that have crept on over the summer. Odd, isn't it, you would think that summer activities would keep you slim, but I think I am not alone in my tendency to "add a few" over the summer.

Well, I use the "summer" term loosely, we have not had much of one here. Of course, natives of this temperate climate complain loudly when we do get heat, but for me, well, I like everything...snow, heat, even the rain. It's the change of seasons that I like, it's an excuse to turn my attention to different activities, depending on the season.

When I am in the garden, I think of my Mom. She died in 1986, and I think of her literally everyday. And I think of how she was not much older than I now am when she first got sick. So she inspires me to live every day to the fullest, just like she did.

When I am in the kitchen, or doing chores, I think of my SIL, who left us far too young, just a couple of years ago. She loved to cook, and was very talented at anything she tried. When I feel overwhelmed by chores, I think of how she doesn't get to do anything anymore, and I feel better about my life and what I have on my plate.

But enuf about that! I have guests for dinner and must get my sous-chefs going! I am making garlic potato skins with tzaziki, jasmine rice with ginger, and beef, chicken and turkey sausage "bobs" (we call them) with veggies (grape tomatoes from my garden, yellow and green zukes, and purple peppers and red onions). Lotsa antioxidants in those kabobs!

So thanks again for the yummy soup, it will go great with my diet plan...and as it happens I froze a ham bone and some ham meat just last week!

Have a lovely weekend (what's left of it)

xxoo,

Carolyn!

p.s. I have missed you, dear Gina! I hope you will not be a stranger...hey, I think of you when I am garage-saleing; we are having one next week, along with the neighbours... Luis is annoyed with me because I have seen some of the things they are selling and have bought a couple! :-)!!
