Misc.This is a second reply. The raisin used in the orginal recipe was for golden raisins. Note that it contrasted well in color with the dates. Also, the original recipe called for Brazil nuts instead of pecans. My experience with the Brazil nuts was that they were bulky chunks in the cake and I think the pecan and maybe walunut (or a combination thereof) would be more desirable.
