Thank You: Sal's Sassy Sauce

Misc.
Hi There!

I also was in Ra-cha-cha at school (RIT) from January 1979 to July, 1981. My girlfriend (now wife) went to MCC and I went to RIT and worked part-time at NTID as a cameraman in their TV studios. Many a night was spent plowing through the deep rutted snowy streets getting to Sal's, which we always preferred over Red Creek, altough many a night was likewise spent there listening to Room Full of Blues, or Spyrogyra and having traditional Buffalo style wings as well. When not trapsing off to Bay & Goodman at 1:00 AM for a pizza and Pac-Man, we always went to Sal's. I remember getting there and walking across the very sticky floor, which was the result of a night of wing heaven.

My second job was at WATERBED WORLD ----FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. I remember setting up the Bahama Mama which had 9 mirrors in the ceiling of the canopy bed.....one can only imagine, which we did....we definitely did!

We were at the Waterworks bar at 11:10 PM, December 8, 1980, when the TV newscast announced the shooting of John Lennon in NYC. Never forgot that night for sure.

Chez John Pierre, that weird Mushroom House (?) in the country (cannot remember the name), which was good for breakfast. The Park Avenue Festival, Lloyds for fine dining, Beefsteak mining company and lastly, but not leastly, Don and Bob's and the Miami Special! Cheesey Eddies, which I see is still going strong was the best Cheesecake. His first storefront was on Monroe Avenue, right across from Cobb's Hill where we lived, just under the radio tower.

At that time Wegman's was a merely normal supermarket, not the "Whole Foods of the East".....all in all, we loved Rochester during those fine years!

Now, don't you remember that the Sassy Sauce had a whole Orange in it as well? I did get the recipe once from a kid that worked there, but lost it after all these years,

Would appreciate your copy!

Thanks!
