re: Smitty's Sauce Recipe

Hi Andy, Smitty's was the best! In the early 70's we used to go to Jenks and Jones for jazz then a few doors down to Smitty's for a "Bird Dinner HOT Sauce on the mac salad please!" Smitty would beam with pride, he knew how much folks loved his food. Wish he was still alive and cooking!

I just purchased a jar of Smitty's sauce to use on my fried chicken. Even with the commercialized Smitty's sauce I've only been able to get somewhat close to a Smitt'y Bird. I'd like to know what Smitty did to his birds before he deep fried them. I'd be interested in your recipe.
