although I'm a CA native, ahmm typin' this with a drawl, 'cause I have Southern roots. Both of my parents are from OK, and my paternal Grandparents were from GA. I'm the keeper of the family treasures, inc. the silver that was burri'd from them Yankee's! After WW2, my parents moved to CA & stayed...Mom started cooking veggies Calif style, tender-crisp. I had a sweet lady bring a dish of Southern-style green beans with bacon after I'd had my last baby (almost 18 yrs ago)--those beans were so delicious I can still remember them! I love Southern food, I think I was weaned on fried chicken! I'm getting a mess of green beans soon to fix "Debbie's way" Thanks! Cali : )
