I know Vicki will be delighted with your suggestion but I just had to add my thanks. I think this is a wonderful idea and one that made me bop myself on the head and ask, "Now why hadn't I ever thought of that?!" My family laughs at me at how I stress over Thanksgiving - and we only host the dinner every other year! All the rest think it's "so easy" but not I. They might croak not to see the turkey carcass but I know I'll be trying this.
