An apple a day....or a year.....
Misc.I freeze apple pies this time of year too! I make them up and freeze unbaked. When I am ready to serve, I pull from freezer and pop into the oven frozen. It takes about an hour to bake and about an hour to cool enough to eat and about 5 minutes to eat! :-)
Never done apple strudel, don't have a recipe (would you like to share?).
I do make up apple pie filling (cooked apples with cinnamon and a little sugar and tapioca (to thicken)) and freeze that for making crockpot apple crisps, regular apple crisps and crockpot apple breakfast (apples, a little cider (or the apple pie filling), and granola, cooked on low overnight).
I think that I have read that you can freeze raw apple slices, but I personally cook them first (slightly).
Another apple idea, is you can dry them. Borrow a dehydrator if you don't have one, or use your oven. These are great to throw in with kids lunches, into oatmeal instead of raisins and chopped into cookies, muffins, breads.
