Balsamic Vineager

I've seen a lot of recipes (fruit) that calls for Balsamic Vineager. I've used it on salads, but haven't on fruit. I tried to locate something about Balsamic Vineager on Yahoo, but nothing came up. Maybe I'm spelling it wrong. Can anyone enlighten me about it and some uses for it? I love the flavor.
