Christmas Dinner in Minneapolis

Misc.

My family's coming from Iowa and some friends who had Christmas Day open. We're having:

Turkey
Make-Ahead Turkey Gravy
Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes
Mediterranean Fennel Salad (with green beans, red peppers, fennel and pine nuts)
Jingle Bell Salad (to perpetuate the Midwestern stereotype that the only salad we eat is a jello one!....this is made with that new sparkling jello mix, cranberry-apple drink and mandarin oranges)
Mashed Sweet Potatoes and Pears
Crockpot Stuffing
Plain old corn
Broccoli and Creamed Corn Casserole
Trapper's Wild Rice (with apple juice and gingerroot)- only if there's time
Mom's French Bread (she makes it all the time and to be truthful, it's NOT a French bread, but we've grown up on it!)
Relishes and Cranberry Sauce
Pumpkin Pie
Gingerbread Cake in Caramel Sauce with Pumpkin Ice Cream (I got the LAST 1/2-gallon of Edy's Pumpkin Ice Cream at our local Rainbow yesterday!)

I, as usual, am trying lots of new recipes so wish me luck! This morning I'm going to make the Williams Sonoma Old-Fashioned Gingerbread Dona posted on TKL. I'll also make the pumpkin pies and a couple more batches of cookies, Gina's Chocolate-Cherry Biscotti and Chocolate-Peanut Butter Pinwheels.

Have a Happy and Healthy Christmas!
