I once read about sewing ribbons to the inside top two corners of the cover. Turn the cover inside out, tie around the two top corners of the comforter and then pull the cover right side out over the comforter. I take it this is a queen or king size comforter that you have. If ever you want to replace it, I have a better suggestion. I live in Germany and have stayed in dozens of B&Bs and have never come across a large comforter, only individual twin size ones (two on each bed). The covers are simple to put on and off and it solves the problem if one partner likes a warmer or cooler comforter. I could never go back to blankets and bedspread!
