Easy Gravy Tip

Misc.

Over the years I've tried every gadget for making gravies easy (the special measuring cup gadget, the ladle gadget, etc.) -- and they all worked - sort of.

This past year I either read somewhere or saw on TV -- a new (to me) idea. After doing your roast or turkey, put all the drippings into a thick ziploc bag. Then put the bag in a bowl (to steady it) and put in freezer for just a few minutes. The fat rises to the top. You simply snip off one corner and let the good stuff drain back into your pan and proceed. Worked wonderfully!

I usually make gravies in the microwave - as I never have 'lump' trouble there. But the above works on the range, or in the microwave. This is my 'favorite' new tip of the year!
