Food of the 60's
Misc. I graduated in 1970, so I remember really well the food of the 60's. Homemade was the rule.
Pound cake, banana pudding (cooked not instant),
Kool-aid, tea, coffee, chocolate milk, regular milk, fruit juice (colas not really in fashion), mayonnaise slaw, buttermilk biscuits, fried chicken, pinto beans, Hot corn bread with cold milk, salmon patties,
potato salad, hobo dinners, smore's, burnt marshmallows, yeast rolls, chocolate meringune pie, stovetop chocolate oatmeal cookies, deviled eggs, steak & gravy, fresh coconut cake, jello cake, pineapple upside down cake, sugar cookies, peanut butter cookies, turkey and dressing, pumpkin pie, choolate cake with chocolate icing, brownies, fudge, homemade yeast rolls
real banana splits with real ice cream, celery stuffed with pimento cheese, grilled toasted cheese sandwiches, tomato sandwiches, banana sandwiches, milkshakes...
Ouch, I could go on and on. We didn't eat fancy food. Just good, homemade.
