I actually bought one of these things in Paris last year and although I don't
really care for it, it brings good memories. It sounds like the first one you
described. If you're ever in Paris, Deherillion (sp?)is the place.

Anyhow, have your tried Sur La Table? I'm am fairly certain that I've seen one
either in their store or in the catalog recently. I bet they could help you
out. Don't have the 800# on hand but just call info. They seem to have the
more unusual kitchen gear than the usual sources.

Here's another thought: do you think you could make one? Drill and glue a
couple of dowels together?
