Gina, About buying duck breast

Misc.
I can get duck breast in my regular supermarket. It is with some of the fancier meat. Here, the stores put all of the Black Angus steak and meat in a section which is separate from the rest of the steak, chicken etc. I guess it is supposed to have a better flavor(The Black Angus, that is). Whatever! Anyway, the duck breast is packaged just by itself. Duck legs are also available but I wouldn't have the foggiest notion what to do with them. Of course, duck is all "dark" meat so the legs probably don't taste much different than the breast. I haven't checked the price but they may be cheaper than the breast. Someone told me, or maybe my DH saw it or read it somewhere, that when you cook it, it should feel like a steak when it is cooked medium rare so that may help you when you cook it the first time. DH is the master bbq chef in our house so I can't give you much other guidance in cooking it since I throw a hotdog or hamburger, or maybe a salmon steak on the grill but not much else and I just pretty much pray that they won't be over or under cooked:-)! I really should learn since I usually wait until DH comes home to have anything cooked on the grill. I have completely ruined boneless, skinless chicken breasts a number of times so I have quit trying. I guess I should look at it as a challenge! As the old saying goes."If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!" Maybe I'll work up the nerve to try the chicken breasts again:-)!!!
