First time I've talked to you. Nice to meet you. This way of cooking
green beans is definitely a side dish. If you've ever traveled in the
south this is probably the way you would have them in restaurants such as
Cracker Barrel, Po Folks, etc. In our garden we usually raise Kentucky
Wonders, which is a large bean. They have strings so take a little longer
to snap. Another is called Fall Beans; I think in the north they are
called Italian Beans; a wide bean. I have always cooked country style,
but now that we are getting older and the kids are gone I am trying new
recipes. Have found some great ones on this board. My husband says that
I am cooking "uptown" but he seems to really enjoy them. My goodness
