This doesn't have tomatoes, but maybe you could add them.
1 qt. green beans
4 slices diced bacon
1 small onion
1 tsp sugar
1/4 c water
1/4 c vinegar
cook green beans and drain. Keep hot. fry bacon and onion, stir in vinegar, water, and sugar. bring to a boil. pour over hot beans. garnish with onion slices.
