I'm so sorry, Gladys...

I didn't know your mother died, Gladys. I'm so sorry. Did I miss a post?

My mother died in 1986. It is still very painful to me to think about. I miss her every day. She never met my children, let alone helped me raise them. I wish she could be here, just to tell me I'm doing a good job. I know she would have loved my kids as much as I do. One of the keener (harsh!) realities is that you love your children in a different way than they love you. Such is nature's way!

I am thinking of you, and Luis and I send you our very best wishes.
