It's pretty darm cold here too. Brrrr...
Misc.In fact, it seems like pretty much the entire summer has been pretty cool/cold and rainy. We were in Anguilla during the terrible heat spell so we missed that hot weather. I have to say that I wasn't sorry that we missed it since 100 + is a tad warmer than I like when I speak of warm weather.
I had the feeling, as you did, that your friends would love the lobster. I have been itching to do clams on the grill. I even copied a recipe from Bobby Flay that sounds pretty much like Clams Casino but they're done on the grill. Like your friend from Kansas, we didn't have much in the way of clams growing up. Once in awhile, we had them out but never at home which was Ithaca, N.Y. I wouldn't have a clue how to open them so they are on the half shell so that I could make clams on the grill. I wish I did know. Ed's recipe sounds so good. Maybe you could talk him into sharing it here at recipelink??!?
And, speaking of your dear DH. I'm happy to hear that he is doing well and very much on the mend. It's good you decided to stay a little bit longer. Let's hope we get some lovely fall weather before you leave to go back!!
