Living in Phoenix,Az
Misc. I enjoy reading the opinion of other about what it is like to live here in AZ. It does take some getting use to. For the most part we live with air conditioning. The swamp coolers are very useful to put moisture back in the homes, during the dry seasons, however, during the monsoon season they are not effective, and most people also have air conditioning. The cost of the coolers is also much cheaper than Air. So it is a cost factor.
I moved to Phoenix 37-years ago and the first year I though I would die from the heat. I came here from North Central Indiana and now I can't imagine ever wanting to live anywhere else the life style is so much more laid back than that in the Midwest or the East.
For someone coming to visit for the first time should try Feb., March and April or Oct., Nov. Dec. There really are lots of very nice sites to see and places to go. We do have lots of SNOW here also. In Flagstaff they snow ski. Prescott, Kingman, and Payson all have very bad snow. So as I see it I have the best of both worlds. I can be in snow in one hour if I choose and live in sunshine. But just come for a visit as we are starting to get over crowded and loosing the reason we all moved here.
