May I recommend a book?

I hope this reply isn't too late, but can I recommend a book for the dilemma with your fiance? It's called "A Man, A Can, A Plan" by David Joachim. It's a cookbook that has super-simple recipes that anyone can make - it even has pictures of the ingredients involved. I worked in a bookstore, and it was a popular book with guys and students going off to college. We had a hard time keeping it on the shelf. If you are in a bookstore - look for it; I hope this helps!
