ok, my curiosity got the better of me, and I checked the labels of both vanillas

Misc.
the fine print (yes, I even put on my glasses!) on both the brands says coumarin-free (or its Spanish equivalent).

FYI, the two brands I settled on are: Orlando, one litre of which set me back about twelve American dollars (I found out later it was too much! I must admit, I do not work very hard to get the prices down, for my own reasons). And the other brand, called Posa, set me back about 3.50 American dollars. That's the one from Walmart.

The other brands I have in the cupboard are from the D.R., my MIL sent them to me. She never like me much (her son brought home a gringa, can ya believe it?) Upon further reflection, perhaps I should just toss 'em!

Still kickin'! Liver function is good, too!

Carolyn!
