re: cakes in a jar

I just really wanted to thank you for the tip about the jar cake recipe. I had heard about this and thought "WOW what a great idea for Christmas gifts this year, fun for the whole big family". But not until I did "real" research did I find out that they are not truly shelf safe as a friend had told me, but in fact need to be refridgerated! I cannot THANK YOU enough. I would hate to think I sent gifts out saying that they were good "forever" and made my family, whom I love very much, SICK. Not such a good gift. Thank you for the honest tip. Thanking you for a long time, Colleen of Oregon
