re: Friendship fruit starter
Misc.It is fine to make and use as long as there are no signs of mold. It is meant to be used as a starter, like using a sourdough starter, but for fruit cakes. The fruit can be frozen and used later in fruit cakes.
It is an Amish recipe, as far as I know.
Some recipes use brandy instead of the yeast to make the starter.
