I do not remember using Baking Soda in the recipe. It is a recipe from one of my sisters, several years ago but I will look it up tomorrow. I will also check with my sister. I used to bake at church and I also taught baking and some cooking at church as well.. My Mother and Grandmother were both awesome bakers.
