re: Sourdough starters
Misc. Kay, in my experience you can use any starter in any recipe for bread, either in a bread machine or by hand. I'm not at home right now, but when I get there I will post a couple you can try. You add it with the rest of the ingredients when you fill the machine, so you have to have it made ahead. I keep mine going by feeding it every week or so and just throw 1/2 cup or so in when I want that tangy taste. Sometimes I add a bit more flour after it mixes a while if it looks too sloppy. I can't remember the name of the cookbook that gave me this advice, I'll check when I get home tomorrow and post it. Good luck, Micha
