I have stainless steel pans and absolutely love them. After cooking with them, I use Cameo stainless steel cleaner (about 69 cents) to keep them looking good. It keeps food from sticking to the pan. I always managed to scratch the teflon coating, and after hearing about the fumes I chose to go with st. steel. I've had my stainless steel pans for a couple of years and they still cook like the first day I used them.
