Yes dear Ivonne. The Fiesta de Reyes is a big feast for us

Misc.
here in Puerto Rico. In the United states it is known as the Epyphany & is celebrated by the Catholics from other nationalities.

I too hate grating the root vegetables for the pasteles. I have an electric professional food grinder from Kitchen Aid & I use the fine grinding plate for grinding the root vegetables for the pasteles. You would be surprised at how well it does the job. I also use the grinder for the Alcapurrias & for the Croquetas.

Perhaps you should try one of these food grinders which are excellent also for grinding beef, chicken & even the Carrucho for the Empanadillas. I usually order at Amazon. com or at Chefscatalog.com

Let me know if you need further information on the subject.
