Recipe: Sausage and Cheese Special (Tennessee Ernie Ford Show, 1950-60's)

Sandwiches
SAUSAGE AND CHEESE SPECIAL

1 package Swift's Premium Brown 'N Serve Sausage (thawed if frozen)
5 frankfurters buns, split
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
2 medium tomatoes, sliced
2 cups shredded cheese

Sprinkle onion and cheese over browned surface of bottom half of each bun. Cover with sliced tomato and top with 2 sausages.

Broil until cheese melts and sausages are hot.

Cap with top half of bun. Serve hot.

Makes 5 servings
