ANISE COOKIES
1 cup lard
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon anise
1/4 cup water
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
cinnamon sugar (for dipping cookies)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly grease a baking sheet.
In one bowl cream lard and sugar until soft. Add egg, anise, and water.
In another bowl combine flour, salt, baking powder then add both bowl together and mix.
Roll dough 1/4 inch thick and cut into rounds. Dip in sugar and cinnamon. Place on prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes at 400 degrees F.
