Recipe(tried): Apple topping suggestion for Carol, NCC

Desserts - Fruit
No real recipe here...just a method
When we were kids (many years ago) my mother would spoon applesauce into a pie plate and then make a mixture like a graham cracker crust with a good amount of cinnamon in it; then, leaving it crumbly, she would top the "pie" with the buttery, spicy, crunchy mixture and bake until it was bubbly. We loved it hot or cold! I think this would work for your apples.
