Recipe: Creamy Italian Dressing, Creamy Garlic Dressing and Creamy Parmesan Dressing

CREAMY ITALIAN DRESSING

3/4 cup mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/4 cup dairy sour cream
2 teaspoons white wine vinegar or white vinegar (i have also used lemon juice)
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/4 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1 to 2 tablespoons milk (optional)

In a mixing bowl stir together all ingredients for the dressing except the milk.

Cover and refrigerate. If necessary, stir in milk to make of desired consistency.

VARIATIONS:

CREAMY GARLIC DRESSING
Prepare as above, except omit oregano and garlic powder. Add 2 cloves garlic, minced.

CREAMY PARMESAN DRESSING
Prepare as above, except omit the dry mustard, dried oregano, and salt. Stir in 3 Tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese and, if desired, 1/2 teaspoon cracked dried pepper.

Makes 1 cup
