Recipe: Applebee's Asiago Peppercorn Steak

Main Dishes - Beef and Other Meats
ASIAGO PEPPERCORN STEAK FROM APPLEBEE'S

"The Good Day Cafe features Harlem Applebee's kitchen manager Tony Corley, who shows Good Day how to make the new Asiago Peppercorn Steak. The entire dish is under 390 calories."

1 (7 ounce) sirloin steak
1 tsp. cracked black peppercorns (from video)
1 Tsp. shredded Asiago cheese (from video)
4 ounces seasonal vegetables
Roasted red potatoes with garlic and herb dressing

Spray the grill with cooking spray. Cover steak with cracked peppercorns, grill to preferred temperature, once done. Be sure to make grill marks on each side of steak.

Lightly cover steak with Asiago cheese, sprinkle evenly. Place steak in oven to melt cheese. NO SAUCE NEEDED and it keeps the calories down!

Use A-size red potatoes, slice in quarters, lightly season and roast them. Drizzle mixture of garlic and herb dressing over potatoes.

GARLIC AND HERB DRESSING:
At Applebee's, we have our own secret signature garlic herb sauce, but you could make it at home by substituting it with a great garlic and herb vinaigrette dressing. Just be sure to use a light version, to keep your calories down like ours. The key is how much you put on the potatoes -- only 1 tablespoon.

Serve with a side of steamed fresh, in-season vegetables.
