Recipe: Basic Recipe for Oatmeal

Breakfast and Brunch
Hi Marilyn,

Basic Oatmeal

1 part rolled oats to 2 parts water
dash of salt (optional)

Put oats and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil, then simmer until desired consistency.

Or, bring the water to a boil and then stir in the oats, lower the temperature and simmer until done as you like - the longer they cook the less texture they will have.

If they turn out too thick, add a more water a little at a time and continue cooking.

If they turn out too thin, stir in more oats and continue cooking.

I hope that's a help!
