Bohemian Christmas Bread

Because this bread is an extremely high rise, a 1-pound loaf will easily fill a large bread-machine bucket. Test the small recipe first to see how the loaf rises in your machine. Follow manufacturer's directions on loading.

1 1/2 LB. LOAF
1 1/2 teaspoons Active dry yeast
3 cups Bread flour
1 teaspoon lemon peel -- dried
1 1/2 teaspoons Salt
3 1/2 tablespoons Sugar
1 each Egg
2 tablespoons Butter
6 ounces milk -- warmed
2 ounces Warm water
4 1/2 tablespoons almonds -- chopped
3 1/2 tablespoons Raisins

1-LB. LOAF
1 teaspoon Active dry yeast
2 cups Bread flour
1/2 teaspoon lemon peel -- dried
1 teaspoon Salt
2 1/2 tablespoons Sugar
1 each Egg
1 1/2 tablespoons Butter
1/2 cup milk -- warmed
1 1/2 ounces Warm water
3 tablespoons almonds -- chopped
2 1/2 tablespoons Raisins

NOTES: For Panasonic/National machines -- use 3 tsp. Of yeast for the 1 1/2 lb.loaf

If your machine has a mix cycle -- the almonds and raisins can be added at the beginning or at the mix beep. They can also be added towards the end of the mixing process.
