CHERRY BREAD
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 (5 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
juice from cherries
3/4 cup broken nut meats
Beat eggs until foamy. Add sugar and beat until thick; set aside.
Sift dry ingredients together and add alternately with cherry juice to sugar mixture.
Quarter the cherries. Fold cherries and nut meats into batter. Pour into greased 1-pound loaf pan.
Bake in preheated 350 degree F. oven, 45 minutes
