Recipe: Cherry Syrup

Misc.
Hi,

I don't know where in Australia you can buy cherry syrup. You might try a coffee house that sells flavored syrups for coffee such as torani brand. But, if that still isn't an option, you can make your own syrup.

Flavored syrup

2 cups sugar(granulated/castor)
1 cup water
1 tablespoon extract/essence of your choice

In a saucepan combine sugar and water and heat till sugar is completely dissolved and the syrup is clear. Remove from heat and add your flavoring.

To make cherry cola just add a couple of tablespoons of cherry syrup to a glass of cola.

My son had a chocolate cola the other night and it was delicous. All it was, was some chocolate syrup (the kind you mix with milk to make chocolate milk) and cola.

We also make Italian sodas using the flavored syrups. Put two ounces of syrup in the bottom of a tall glass add some ice cubes then fill with club/selzter soda and top with whipped cream or add some cream...I skip the cream, don't need the calories.

You can also use this syrup for making sno-cones.

Hope this helps,
Kim
