Recipe(tried): Chicken Cordon Bleu, Confetti Potatoes, Peas, Salad
MenusHello!
Today, while on our way to breakfast, we saw a dog tied to a fence along a busy street. You could easily miss seeing her as whomever tied her up left her by a bush where she could easily seek shade.
When we came back home, we noticed her still there and decided to call 911. She had no water or food and looked emaciated, no telling how long she had been there. Her back looked like someone had beat her, yet when we approached her, she was elated, wagging her tail and instantly turning on her back for a belly rub.
Soon another car stopped by with a husband and wife that lived across the street. She wanted to take the dog so badly but her husband said no, they had three already at home and had spent close to $400.00 aiding another dog they had found in similar conditions before. She went sprinting home to bring back a big bowl of kibble and another bowl of water which the dog eagerly ate and drank to her heart's content.
Then a mother and daughter driving by stopped to ask if the dog was still there as they had seen her early in the morning on their way to church. They parked and got out to come over. Again, the dog wagged her tail and went on her back to get a rub, she was so friendly. The daughter kept on asking, "Mom, please can we take her home?" and the Mother would reply, "We've already got one".
The daughter kept on asking nicely and telling her Mom she would gladly give up her horseback lessons to defray the cost of getting this dog healthy once again. Finally, the Mom gave in and told her she would have to walk it home as the dog was not gonna get in her car. I was so happy to hear that! What a sweet, obedient dog and so happy to see humans. I then re-dialed 911 to cancel them calling Animal COntrol coming out.
To the person who did this, you obviously don't know what true love and compassion is. A dog, man's faithful companion, should NEVER be left tied up without food and water, especially in Florida's hot heat You should never have pets as you don't know what it takes to care for a living thing so dependant on you. Shame on you for what you did. If you could not care for this animal, you should have found it another home.
I am glad that that little girl fell in love with this dog and that her Mom relented. And a big thanks to that lady who went running home to get it food and water. Who knows how long this poor dog had been there, just waiting for someone to come by, just waiting for some kind words and perhaps a drink of water and release from her personal hell.
Tonight for dinner, we had Chicken Cordon Bleu (prepared by Publix), Confetti Potatoes (which are smashed potatoes doctored up with butter, sour cream, salt and pepper, 2 tsp. Bacon Bits, 2 tsp. dried chives and 1/4 cup shredded cheddar), canned peas, apple sauce and salad.
