Recipe: Chicken Oriental (Kellogg's recipe, 1960's)

CHICKEN ORIENTAL

3 pounds frying chicken pieces
2 cups Kellogg's Croutettes Stuffing Herb Seasoned Croutons
1 egg
2 tablespoons soy sauce
Mandarin oranges (optional, for garnish)

Wash chicken pieces and dry thoroughly.

Using electric blender or rolling pin, crush Croutettes into coarse crumbs.

Beat egg and soy sauce together. Dip chicken pieces in egg mixture; roll in Croutettes crumbs until well coated. Place skin side up in greased shallow baking pan. Do not crowd.

Bake in moderate oven (350 degrees F) about 1 hour or until done.

Garnish with mandarin orange slices, if desired.

Makes 6 servings
