1 clove garlic, chopped
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 cup condensed cream of tomato soup, undiluted
1 cup water
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/3 cup flour or masa harina flour, mixed with 1/2 cup warm water
Saute the meat in a large skillet, until partially done.
Add the onion and garlic, cooking till onion is soft. Stir in remaining ingredients(except for flour/water mixture). Cover and simmer 1 hour.
Remove lid and continue cooking to allow some of the moisture to evaporate.
Add the flour and water mixture and cook until thickened, about 5-10 minutes.
Servings: 6
Note: A person requested Chili's chili recipe in our local newspaper. Found this recipe online and sent it to the paper for this week's food section. The lady posting the recipe online said, she has had the recipe for a while but hasn't tried it. Her information was, it supposedly is the Chili restaurant chili recipe. Enjoy!
